What attracted you to your trade?
Fell into it by accident, by helping my friends and found out I wasn’t too bad at it.
What challenges did you face?
Stereotypical males saying I should be home looking after the house.
What kept you going?
The comments saying I would never finish.
What makes you really proud?
There were 4 of us that started our trade together. I was the only one to finish.
What do you believe are the benefits of working in a trade as opposed to more tradition employment?
More opportunity to move around to different sites and different equipment to work on.
What do you love most about your trade?
Looking back at something you have made or fixed and feeling proud. The people I have meet thru the years (good and bad) have all taught me something.
What triumphs have you had?
Was given a job years ago because I was female and told "we take more pride in our work"
What do you do in your spare time?
Travel.
